Which is why I'm SO angry at how the public office holders keep wasting astronomical amounts of money on aggrandizing themselves. There are so many hospital facilities that have been CLOSED. The money raised should have been used to open them up to treat the mentally ill and addicted on a permanent and long term basis, respectively. And this country will have to limit the huge influxes of people from other countries, until there are more resources that are efficiently used the way they are supposed to. And lastly, the stupid governor of the state of CA, needs to tell the other states to do the same for THEIR residents. Otherwise, nothing is going to get better for talented, and good people like this. We all have to earn our keep, so to speak. But the incompetent, privileged people running this state, would have been fired if they worked in the private sector.

That performance needed a golden buzzer. I hope they record that song so we can buy their version. Truly beautiful. ❤

I had been homeless for 500 days and just recently I was able to get back into my own place... after illegally being put out during the Pandemic it has been one of the worst times in my life.... My own family turned their backs on me , and I found out who my real friends were and were not. ...moving forward I got myself legal help and doing better this song , this rendition , was heartfelt, touching, powerful, and I'm glad I ran across this performance it was perfect and I needed to hear this , everyone needs to hear this please don't look down on anyone homeless cause it could be you Next everyone is not on drugs, non working, or didn't pay their rent . Some people are just mean and hateful because they own property but get to know your housing rights please ...and No I'm not sorry for the long post .....prayers for all and especially our Homeless community ❤️🙏🙏🏼🙏🏼

God bless you guys. I am 60, with heart problems, recently houseless for 18 months. I truly appreciate the words, voices, music, compassion, humanity, oneness and love you’ve shown America & the world. I got housing but some awful neighbors have made my one room home feel like hell (harassment, destroyed my truck, filled the gas tank with sugar, painted license plate & stickers black, police reports, TRO & court dates, a nightmare). But your singing reminds me that good always outweighs the bad & light is always more powerful than darkness.❤️🙏🎶 And the day after Juneteenth, thinking of the word “freedom” all day yesterday, then today I discover The Freedom Singers.🌠Can I please give them a Golden Buzzer?✨🌟✨🌟✨🌟✨

Golden Buzzer? Please.. You can be moved by their back story, sure. But judging the performance, talent-wise, is something different. They had nice voices, but most of them lacked confidence. Some were flat or even off-pitch a few times, and some were almost impossible to hear because they didn't commit to the notes they sang. It was beautiful, and touching, yes, but that's because of their story.

@@user-kj7nw4zg1y the audition was authentic. ask any songwriter and they will tell you that once their work is out there, it is up to people to relate to it however serves them best. those lyrics resonate with everyone for their own reasons, which is the genius of Kiedis' words and why the song is considered as great as it is. those feelings of hopelessness, isolation, and despair that came from his experience with addiction have universal truths to them. this group genuinely relates to the underlying emotions of that song and the connection to the city of angels, and they left their truth all over that stage.

Sometimes, we need something like this to make us realize that we are throwing away people who have real value. Even if they can't sing, all people have value and something to offer us.

They deserved a record deal

I love their message. I was homeless with my service dog a few years ago because I left a domestic Violence situation. People need to understand not all the homeless people are on drugs or alcohol. People please be kind if you see a homeless person and when someone just gave me something to eat I was thankful and prayed for God to bless them for being kind to me. Im doing good now with the help of programs, my dog and I are no longer homeless. God is good. And God was listening to this group and their message

Raw and real…it was more than just an audition it was STORY…so many concerns plaguing society and the world at large and I must say thank you guys for being a voice for the homeless

This is one of the most beautiful, moving and heartfelt auditions I've ever seen on the show. Wow.

The choice of song was profound and fitting. Skid Row seems so far from AGT but it is so close. City of Angels captured that closeness better than most of any songs could. The lead was powerful.
