Shows like this won't usually mention if someone has a relative or have appeared on another talent show themselves. They want to maintain the illusion that they have no idea who is auditioning even though a lot of the talents are invited to "audition" by production.

This kid brought it all: he goes from a whisper to belting in a single phrase, he nails every note going from major to minor keys, and his voice breaks in a way that makes you think he's about to cry before he hits the next high note. His harmonic embellishments are careful and flawless. He turned this song into an anthem for anyone who refuses to be "owned." Incredible performance.

He's like American Jack Vidgen. Maybe not quite the impact Vidgen have, but similar vibes, but his own take. There's starting to be a lot more guys singing in higher registers and people are impressed. 40 years ago, this would be considered non-masculine. Now, it's both impressive and just good music. Talk about picking a great song to sing and doing his runs. The Voice also had a kid from Alabama (Ryley Tate Wilson who went with Team Niall), but Reid has a more unique voice. There are stereotypes of people from Alabama, but there are those from there that defy stereotypes (as with any kind of stereotype). (Daniel Scheinert who co-directed Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, is from Alabama).
Now that’s what I called an old soul. He has a good chance of winning this whole thing.

I love it when Simon closes his eyes and is fully absorbing a fantastic voice.
First, I was really impressed that he chose to sing "You Don't Own Me", which Lesley Gore had the guts to sing in 1963, when women were widely considered to be "less than" men. That choice of a song was bold and refreshing for a 15 year old male. Second, he had the courage and ability to make the song his own and not mimic others' versions. Bravo Reid!

One of the most wholesome AGT videos I’ve seen in a long time. No sob story, no drama, just pure talent from a kind, well mannered, humble, humorous kid who really blew me away. Well done!! Edit - I’m not saying having a backstory is a bad thing, or invalidating anyone who has one. Every person’s life and and story matters. My point is that this is a talent show - and that’s what this platform should be for, I prefer it to not have much focus on the story for this particular show, and rather focus on what it’s for… a talent show.

14 years old?! Oh My Goodness, that voice is crazy good, he’s got that retro old soul unusual voice, plus I love the song choice for him! I absolutely love it, definitely a Golden Buzzer moment! Congratulations!

Yes, many GB this season are singers and well deserved. I’m not usually a fan of singing on AGT but these singers this year are really special.
So clear, and powerful at the same time. Loved it. CONGRATS, well deserved.
This boy is not only beautiful inside and out, but WOW he has soul and was amazing 🤩 What I also love is that his voice is unique 👍🧡

Saw it LIVE in our studio....gave me the chills. Listened back a few times since then...Simply amazing! Humble, nervous, sincere....passionate & executed. Young man, you're on your way. Simply amazing.

How do you get in the audience of AGT? I would love that! You are so fortunate! are the judges really watching these performances for the first time? I’ve always wondered that.
