I can't express with words how lucky I feel to be able to say that I am one of the kids who always told him how amazing his voice is. My favorite part of walking through the hallways in school is hearing this phenomenon. ❤ Richard, you are indeed a true hero.

The thing I love most is he didn’t try to tell some sob story even though he could’ve. His wife died of cancer not too long ago. But he didn’t use it to get votes, he let his voice do the work. This is what a golden buzzer is for.

I watch several Got Talent clips, mostly America and Britain though. One thing I do notice is on BGT the judges hit the golden buzzer in the moment of emotion, like after the song when everyone is cheering, and on AGT the judges hit the golden buzzer while giving their summary of the performance, thus taking part in the emotional moment instead of giving the emotional moment to the performer.

On Canada's Got Talent all Golden Buzzers receive $25,000 (tax free) & top prize is $1,000,000 Canadian (roughly about $730,000 - tax free). Pretty disappointed that AGT buzzers don't win anything, He really deserves $25,000!

I was very stressed and depressed until I hear this. Thank you Richard!
This is the most very deserving Golden Buzzer ever in the entire AGT season. We love you Sir Richard . Not only in America, but the whole world.

My Dad was the Custodian at a middle high school for 2 decades back in the 70s/80s. When he had a heart attack, several kids went to the hospital and said they were his kids in order to see him. They made a card that was 3 ft tall by 2 ft wide, and most of the school signed it with well wishes. I had the best Dad ever and I was so proud of him. He got better and went on to live another 30 years before passing. The kids at his school had a huge welcome back party for him, and they even all cleaned up afterwards. He was very popular in our city as he also did tons of charity work. I never felt shame of his job. Besides, here in Canada, he was making good money at that time since he was in a Union. 😊

To all the comments saying they thought it sounded like Steve, you’re wrong, no one sounds just like Steve. Steve is 75 and can still hit some high notes. This guy was very good , I love how humble and kind he is, Steve Perry is also very humble and kind, you can hear it in any interview throughout his life. I hope he comes back with another Steve Perry / Journey song.
This man is so great!! I love this song and him singing it makes me so happy!! We love you Richard, I hope you fulfill your dream. God bless you Richard!
Everyone is applauding his singing and rightfully so, but let's not forget he has worked as a janitor for many years and society often frowns upon such roles. He is humble, and he humbled us all, with his humanity and voice. God bless sir

From terrified to brilliant, just hiding sweeping floors , such hidden brilliant talent Mr. Richard
Amazing! It takes REAL talent and vocal control and rage to sing anything sung by Steve Perry. One of the greatest vocalists of our time. If Steve saw/heard this, he should be proud! I love this dudes energy. He’s not doing this for ego, fame, money, or any bs reason. He genuinely loves and respects the craft of singing/music. And as a musician I’ve seen so much negative energy in the music business. Many have positions with hardly any talent, and are heartless empty people that block others from getting in. We NEED more people like this guy getting a chance to make it, because people like him will keep great music alive, and help other underdogs too because he and others like him have big hearts. Hope this man does well and doesn’t have to be a janitor anymore after this. Keep singing bro!!!✊🏽💪🏽👊🏽👊🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Richard works at my kids school and also works with my Dad @ the school! We’ve been super excited to see this tonight! All happy tears!! He deserves this 🙏💙 West Vigo sure is proud of you !
