Music is such a precious gift. For Terry to share that gift with these kids is fantastic. Now they can develop a passion for music, which is so important.

I don’t think the teacher is getting enough recognition here, you can tell she genuinely cares about her students. We need more teachers like her.

I hate to tell you this but we have many more teachers like this than anyone wants to admit. Many have just been burned out with constant administrative garbage that gets in the way of teaching.

My daughter's band director. He retired after THIRTY YEARS at that one school, and he didn't even have tenure! In a school of less than a thousand students, about 100 students or more were involved with the band. That's about 11-12% of the students!

This is amazing. I am in the orchestra and I play the viola. It has definitely changed my life, and I hope these students find a passion for these instruments. Orchestra is amazing and will be an incredible experience for those who try it out. What an amazing gift.

I worked at Gompers for a year back in 2018-2019. They are great kids with so much potential, but many people judge them because of the school's area. I'm glad that Terry did this for them, and I hope the students have a blast learning!

I just realized how privileged my upbringing was. I went to a small public school in lower Alabama, and not having instruments just wasn't an option. We had the option to purchase new, purchase used from select places, or rent for fairly cheap. Of course there were students who's family couldn't afford to rent, and as a school we did fundraisers, washed cars, whatever it took. Every student who wanted to be in band, got the opportunity. We went to competitions and stuff, which again was paid for through fund-raising. I'm only 29, how did we sink this far, this quickly? The county I attended school in wasn't wealthy, and as everyone knows Alabama ranks in the bottom ten across the board. So how did we go from every child gets an instrument no matter what, to relying on the generosity of celebrities in under two decades? And why aren't more people absolutely outraged by it? Not just the lack of music, but art, pe, life skills?!? We aren't teaching our kids to do anything but sit down and shut up, and everyone just seems to be ok with that... I don't understand it...

I love this!! My mom is a retired teacher and she spent much of her salary on supplies for the students and I would frequently help her in the classroom and we'd spend countless hours prepping for the kids. She didn't make much money, but she did make a difference.

There are many teachers who actually care for all these school children. A school teacher I know gives everything from tablets to shoes to the students who need help. This is such a sweet and caring thing Terry did for this school. I always knew he was a good person and so funny. Yes music can change a child's life. Iam a proud alumni graduate from GOMPERS middle school. I went to Gompers back in 2002-2005 we had instrument in the bandroom the year i graduated they closed the bandroom and I believe the instruments were wore down. Im glad to see they got brand new instruments and shout out to the teacher and Terry crews

She was really waiting helplessly for this day But it is shocked to find that a school in USA, the richest and the most powerful country is surviving on donation and charities. 01:13 "Our kids get to actually hold instruments in their hands. We don't have to show a picture or say this is what a violin looks like". The school budget is 300 to 1000 dollars for the year. On the contrary, the country is spending billions of dollars in the name of MCC(Millennium Challenge Corporation) abroad.

@@AzlianaLyana My mom has played the piano since she was eight years old. She even started to play gospel music which is fun. She taught me when I was little sadly I am 32 and learning it all over again with my mom. I am a singer more then a musician. I did not know I had a good voice until my mom told me to try out for a college choir. Well I did and got a $8,000 scholar ship. I was able to get my basics done and a associates degree. I have learned that if I learn the piano then I can play any instrument and improve on my vocals drastically. This time its so much fun because I get to do it with my 18 year old baby sister!! Awww! She is my biggest fan. She loves to hear me sing and dances when ever I do RB. Me and her love to sing together! Have you seen the movie Mask of Zorro?

@@AzlianaLyana The main song on that video All I want to do is Love you. Forever that is all I want to do. My baby sister sings the female part and I sing the male part. We just Love that song! Thank you for being kind to a stranger! Especially going to watch the few videos I have. Your compliment shocked me. I am use to people actually making fun of my voice especially the girls. I remember some asked me if they could video me. I agreed but only if they would stand up against anyone who would make fun of my voice. I sang for 12 minutes. They sadly only could put only six minutes of it on Twitter. The video got 22,000 views in two days. That's amazing! The town I live in is about 24,000 people. One of my friend showed me the video because sadly there were girls from every college and university in town that were bulling me! These girls were also customers were I worked which made it difficult to read these comments. I respectfully commented on the video asking why the person sharing the video not doing anything? I was blocked from seeing the video! Also I was bullied at the college that gave me the $8,000 scholership. I was bullied by baseball players because I was in the choir. Plus one of my fellow female class mates went trough a break up and I cried with her. I was pointed at and called gay by showing tears. That is why I do not share my voice on social media much. My generation sadly in general sucks and does not stand up against bullies. Even ones who have enjoyed my voice and told me to go to Americans Got Talent never became my friends. I a sure you I am not trying to make you feel sorry for me. Just explaining why I rarely share my voice on social media. I will never stop singing though! Singing has brought me through the worst years of my life. I just want people to look beyond the voice and see the person behind it. I want to encourage, LOVE, and touch peoples hearts I hope this what ever this is some how changes lives! Thank you for showing me that there are kind and good people out there! I pray all your wishes and dreams come true!!
