Musa didn't overcome his disability, he transcended it. This is so much more than dance... I can't put it into words. It's so beautiful. ❤❤❤

I'm disabled. What's with AGT and its KZread commenters treating disability like a) something you have to "transcend", and b) something that just makes you ✨ so beautiful and wonderful and superhuman ✨? We are normal people, and we're not all trying to shed the disability like it's a dirty word. Some of us are talented. I rarely see even the most amazing abled acts get their act described in the screaming-crying-throwing-up-so-beautiful way people love to describe disabled acts.
@Wondorawoman

@citrusella-nomorecraptions most disabled are not capable of moving, dancing, and having energy like this young man. Musa may not have had this ability before his amputation, but gained the confidence to learn after. So any disabled child or adult can learn. People are amazed because despite of his disability they know loves what he does and knows that it makes him feels normal.

@@Wondorawoman What you are describing is the textbook definition of inspiration p*rn, a word coined by Stella Young, a disabled person who gave a TED Talk on the subject, to describe this kind of thing. Being amazed we exist and that we enjoy existing is incredibly patronizing. Making assumptions about what other disabled people can do based on what one disabled person "can learn" to do is disingenous--it's like saying if some people are Olympic/Paralympic athletes then we ALL can be Olympic/Paralympic athletes. Plenty of disabled people move, dance, and have energy--some of us do have less but to say "most" of us can't do any of the things you listed is just inaccurate. We're 15% of the world's population (that's like a billion people!), not a monolith. Being amazed we did something "despite" our disabilities is something abled people often tack onto us. Assuming we do it to "feel normal" is something tacked onto a lot of us. Having the fact a disabled person is doing it drive your feelings about the act means you are not judging the act based on the TALENT but on the fact you're amazed a disabled person even got onstage and that is PATRONIZING. The circumstances of Simon's golden buzzer feel steeped in this extremely common and TIRING way of seeing disabled acts. From a talent standpoint, while I won't say I didn't enjoy this particular performance (I thought it was better than last week's at least), he's not even the best amputee dancer I've seen (though it's possible the one I'm thinking of that's better had the advantage of working with a very skilled choreographer). By the standards you've set, people should be amazed I do anything at all since I learned everything I know and gained every bit of confidence I have after I became disabled (because I was born disabled). People should be amazed I wake up in the morning. People should be amazed about all the things I do "despite" my disability (I don't do anything despite my disability, I do it in concert with my disability, because working to shed a permanent part of me all the time would be an exhausting thing to have to keep up--I am proud to be disabled). That's patronizing. I don't want to say you're ablesplaining because I do not know whether you're nondisabled, but the tone of your comment is indistinguishable from ablesplaining. It repeats the same tired inspiration p*rn notions at me and assumes I as a disabled person have never heard anyone say these things. TL;DR: I'm sorry, but no.

My husband has the same amputation due to cancer as well. He plays goalie for a sled hockey team. Guys like them inspire me every day! His dance is beautiful, as is he.❤
I’ve never seen anyone dance like that- one-legged, two-legged, or what! Musa’s one of the greatest ever!😮😊❤
Simon is just so empowered. He used all his golden buzzer to his team. HE IS SUCH A GOOD MENTOR.

Simon has softened up so much. "How did it feel?" he asks him while walking him back stage. Wow.
I first saw Musa at BGT last year. Thank you Simon for the golden buzzer. Keep inspiring
This young man is outstanding; not only because he overcame devastation but because his dancing is so incredible you see him for him and his art and forget all about his body. Amazing young man. He is a gifted storyteller.

RE: "Best dancer" LOL... not by a long shot. There has been far better. Have worked with similar amputation athlete ..... near exact in fact as well as others with different limitations. Reality.... He is just an OK dancer.... How he has adapted to his amputation is good..... He is also an inspiration by his tenacity to not play victim but to instead DANCE. - Dont know who did the choreography.. it was only OK.... audience/viewers could appreciate and respect. the dancem but mostly because of his built in insperation as an amputee... otherwise the story in the dance choreography was not decipherable to the average observer; if their even was one... granted that is a criticism of most choreography of last decade plus. - His technique as a dancer is also only "OK" as well. Judging by his dance skills he has not been serious about dance training for very long. He will get better. His lines are ruff... there is much more extension of his lines and curves in him.
