Child prodigies often don't succeed at math later on for a few reasons. First, pure math is about proofs, not calculation, which requires a lot of patience, and attention to detail, not just calculation skill. Second, a lot of prodigies don't need to work hard. Terence Tao, possibly the smartest mathematician alive, almost failed his PhD because he didn't study enough. Finally, a lot of them end up working in industry making millions modelling stockmarkets and such, instead of research.

Don’t let him near NASA. Don’t bother. They probably won’t be around by the time he would be old enough anyway. He’ll do way bigger and better things.🙏🏼
